2024 Summer Celebration

We have arranged a special celebration for the evening of Thursday 27th June 2024 - a lecture entitled: 'The Sacred and the Profane' Michelangelo Merisi, aka 'Caravaggio', popular, renowned, influential, master, father of the Batoque... and controversial! His technique was as spontaneous as his temper and in 1606 he went a step too far!

I hope that everybody enjoyed the evening.

25th anniversary of the Medway NADFAS was celebrated on 16th January 2024, having been started by team leaders Mary Woodfield and her husband Owen on 19th January 1999.

Alas, time had taken its toll, they were unable join

The celebratory meeting and lunch for the occasion

The lecture topic of Venice, Canaletto and his rivals, reminiscent

Of our trip to Venice in November 2001, organised by Mary

And guided by Brian Cairns the Art Historian, offering opportunity

 Of appreciating the Architecture and Art, built on a lagoon, a city Comprising over a hundred small islands, for centuries shrouded in mystery

A calico square had been distributed amongst the members to display individually, a collective patchwork hanging for the Twenty fifth anniversary celebration.

 I revived my rusty cross stich skills to produce this!
